Summer Day Date in Allentown, NJ

Boy oh boy, do I love a day date! There's something special about having all the time in the world to enjoy each other's company. Not to mention, there's so much to explore during the day!

It was actually on a day date last fall when we first stumbled upon Allentown, NJ. I can't quite remember what brought us there, but honestly we were probably just driving around exploring when we happened upon the cutest little town.

Allentown has this adorable main street lined with old homes, eclectic home decor shops, and at the end of the main strip: a beautiful old mill house. The mill house was converted to a bunch of small businesses, one of them being Moth Coffeehouse, which we immediately fell in love with (for it's charm & it's coffee!).

We found ourselves with nothing on the agenda all weekend and decided what a great time to take a little trip back. We've only ever been in the fall, so we were super excited to stroll around without freezing our tails off.

We were really able to appreciate the liveliness of the town because of a "fairy festival" that was happening today. The streets were lined with vendors and pop-up shops offering snacks, games, face painting, and little treasures. Not to mention, there were tons of families with their little kids dressed head to toe as fairies. Not sure I get the fairy tie in, but it doesn't matter, it was ADORABLE.

We made our way to the Moth and had to take advantage of the lighting - seriously, how cute is this place?

We couldn't say no to their special sweet cream blended coffee; I got an iced one with vegan sweet cream and Eric went with the classic dairy blend. While we are nowhere close to vegans (or vegetarians even), most of the food found here is vegan fare so we decided to join in on the fun. We both got a vegan sausage sandwich, which was honestly just incredible, plus a little dessert snack.

After a great lunch, we thought the day couldn't get any better... then Eric spotted the crystal vendor. We perused the most beautiful array of crystals and custom jewelry and wanted to take home every piece we found. Looking back now, I wish I captured more of the setup, but the energy was so amazing I wasn't even thinking of grabbing any shots. We talked with the owner a bit (who was as nice as could be!) and made sure we grabbed a card and this beautiful new smoky quartz piece before heading off. The vendor mentioned she was local-ish... sounds like the perfect excuse for another road trip :)

PS - link to crystal vendor here. Nothing I love more than supporting local businesses, especially when they offer incredible products & services.

We finished off our time strolling through downtown and taking it all in. Such a perfect day to get outside and explore this town! So glad we happened upon it during a festival and got to experience the amazing people, too. If you're local to the Jersey area, you'll have to swing by for some coffee and a little sight-seeing walk to see all the character!
